Whew! It’s been a busy Spring at Julianne’s. We’ve met and worked on interior design with some amazing people in Stephenville and the surrounding areas. I realize every day how blessed I am to have the opportunity to help my customers select beautiful things for their home.

During my last blog, I spoke to you about colors and fabric trends. To start out I believe colors are a very personal choice but should always compliment your accessories and your lifestyle. The 2019 Pantone Color of the Year is “Living Coral” (www.pantone.com). It’s fun and bright and will look great with any neutral shade. Perfect for indoors and out!

Other colors that remain hugely popular are greens and blues. If you come by the shop you will see the lovely display of greens in our window. We are pairing it right now with Copper, which adds some dimension to your view.

This was one of our spring displays in the shop – highlighting green, copper and white!

Fabric trends that remain popular-especially those with children-are performance fabrics. These fabrics can be easily cleaned and are very durable. Sunbrella fabric is no longer for our lawn furniture but comes in beautiful patterns perfect for that comfy chair. Crypton and Revolution are other popular performance fabric that are soft yet durable and stain resistant.

I think there is no better way to talk about these trends than to show you one of our latest projects. The Lively Home is a great demonstration of the latest in color trends. I know many of you out there love gray, but it has taken a turn and is moving from cooler to warmer shadings. You will see in the pictures below how this customer chose warm grays such as “SW Agreeable Gray” and “Mindful Gray”. I also love “BM Revere Pewter” to warm up a room! These grays will allow you to pull in shades of blue or green two of the most popular colors today.

Kitchen Looking Into the Living Room

In the before and after pictures below look for the warm gray walls, the performance fabric on dining chairs, recliner and sofa. Look at the use of shades of blue to enhance the space. Also see in the kitchen and with light fixtures, how mixing metals is lovely and on-trend.
